Modal Distance is a science-fiction roleplaying game about ordinary people doing difficult things in a universe where distance still matters and consequences last.
A Tabletop Roleplaying Game
A tabletop roleplaying game is a collaborative game of imagination. Players create characters and decide what those characters say, attempt, investigate, risk, and do.
One participant serves as the Referee, describing the world, portraying its people, presenting situations and consequences, and determining when the rules are needed.
There is no fixed script. When the outcome is uncertain, the rules and dice help determine what happens. Then everyone imagines what happens next.
The Theater of the Mind
If you can reasonably attempt something in the fictional situation, you can tell the Referee you want to attempt it.
The imagination provides everything else.
